Back in 2013, the partners at Joseph's Bar & Grill, Simon Simonian, Mario Padilla and Ali Ravastan, envisioned a sports bar experience like no other in the city. In Simonian's own words "an ultra lounge with high-end dining where you can get a steak dinner and enjoy a game."  In the venture, the partners financed a complete remodeling of the prior space, Granata's, a staple in Downey for restaurant goers for the past decades. The ultimate vision for Joseph's Bar & Grill, is to contribute to the development of Downey for the benefit of its residents, maintaining alive and thriving a spot that was a favorite to many, by updating and upgrading it.

 

The result is Joseph's Bar & Grill, a equipped with over 50 digital screens for easy viewing of sports broadcasts and a full bar paired with fine dining.

 

The overall design provides a balance between a dynamic atmosphere and one of comfort and intimacy, with outdoor dining patio, facing Downey Blvd., VIP lounge, and restaurant booth seating complimenting the settings, providing multiple scenarios for a rewarding and satisfactory dining, drinking and sports watching experience. The finished surfaces include granite, with a led lighted sensually curved bar top as highlight and polished concrete floors. Custom features such as signage, down to door handles, and a new 20 foot glass front opening with double door entrance, looking out to Boulevard, further enhance the sense of special.

 

Joseph's Bar & Grill opens Monday to Wednesday 4pm to 2am, and Thurdays to Sundays, 11am to 2am, offering lunch and dinner during day and afternoon hours, cocktails and late night appetizers, from 10pm until close.

 

Karaoke Mondays, Dancing on Wednesdays to Sundays nights, Pay Per View and other special events such as New Year's or Valentine's Day, JB&G is the place to go in Downey for a satisfactory meal, a sports game,  a night's out with friends or to celebrate that special business or private occasion.
